Learning from Your Mistakes

Writers become better at the craft of writing through practice and repetition. Simply put, this means that to become a better writer, you must write consistently. But more than that, you must learn from the mistakes you make along the way. Reading a completed first draft for your first romance novel will likely fill you with pride … and a certain amount of dread. After all, writers are usually their own worst critics. But by completing a first draft, by reading through it and correcting the mistakes, then revising and starting the process over, you will not only grow as a writer, you will find yourself moving steadily closer to your ultimate goal of publication.
