Ask any author, regardless of genre, what the hardest part about writing a novel is and you'll likely get the same answer. Namely, that it's writing the very first page. While it's true that finding the perfect first line or crafting a great hook to end your first chapter is hard work, it doesn't have to be a stressful experience. In fact, creating a great opening should be as much fun for you to write as it is for the reader to enjoy.
