Sikhs reject the assertion that Sikhism is a reform movement of Hinduism and Islam. Rather, they claim it came from the divine inspiration of Guru Nanak and the nine gurus who succeeded him. All sects follow the belief in one God and the teachings and scriptures of the ten gurus.
