Evidentialism is a position in the philosophy of knowledge that says our beliefs are only justified if they are grounded in evidence. Applied to religions, Evidentialism claims you are not justified in having a full religious belief unless there is conclusive evidence for the belief. In short, Evidentialism requires that believers “prove up” before they are entitled to hold strongly to beliefs.
