In biblical times, bad blood was often blamed for bloodthirsty acts of brutality and murder. The ancients passed stories through oral tradition of instances when a bad seed was sown in a previous generation, only to reappear later. The old Testament, replete with stories of murders, is no different. Life to the ancients was a precious thing, but death could come from any corridor, and not just at the hands of soldiers, despotic rulers, warring tribes, power-grabbing brothers, or vengeful fathers. The most intriguing evildoers of ancient times were often the women who gave life, but also took it!
