The four women featured in this chapter were extraordinary in every way. From Ann, the grandmother of Jesus, to Elisabeth, who bore John the Baptist, to Sampson's mother, and Mary, mother of Jesus, these women collectively stand as a spiritual prism to reflect many of the best and most beautiful qualities and attributes of motherhood. The Roman Catholic Church and orthodox churches proclaimed some of these women saints. Mary, mother of Jesus, and Ann, especially, are revered as saints.
