Using Computer Software

There are numerous computer software programs that allow you to create your own will. Some of the programs have wills you can print and then fill in the blanks. Most of the programs guide you through a questionnaire regarding who you would like to serve as your executor and how you would like your property distributed. When you complete the questionnaire, the computer program generates a will for you.

Wills generated by computer software can be very good. The programs ask you very straightforward questions, then take your answers and convert your instructions into a will. When you use any computer program to create your will, however, it is very important that you understand the questions the program is asking. The computer program cannot read your mind. It can only generate a will in response to your answers. Again, check with an attorney in your state to be certain the will meets your state's requirements.
