Cranberry and Golden Raisin Relish

Wild game and cranberry concoctions just seem to go together. This relish is a favorite and can be made a number of different ways. Try substituting pear for the apple or add ½ cup of toasted sliced almonds to it for another variation. The Grand Marnier is pricey, so try apricot brandy or orange liqueur as a less expensive alternative.

  • Combine all of the ingredients except the Grand Marnier in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring, then turn down the heat to medium.

  • Simmer, uncovered, for about 30 minutes. Continue stirring until cranberries pop and mixture thickens.

  • Remove from heat and add the liqueur.

  • Let cool. May be served at room temperature.
