Using Numerology to Read the Future

Why are some years filled with activity and adventure, while others seem uneventful or calm? Why do you feel sociable one year and reclusive the next? The answer lies in the predictive side of numerology.

According to this system, each year has its own unique signature. To figure out the numeric value of a year, add the digits together, then consider the sum. The year 2008, for example, when totaled (2 + 0 + 0 + 8) results in 10. When the sum is a double-digit number, add the digits (1 + 0) and reduce it to a single-digit: 1.

The following list describes characteristics and themes associated with the different years:

1

New beginnings, action, independence — This is the time to try something different, assert or challenge yourself, or break away from limitations.

2

Partnerships, balance, developing plans — This year, form mutually beneficial relationships, consolidate financial affairs, and learn the value of cooperation.

3

Expansion, movement, personal growth — This is a good year to travel, undertake studies for personal development, or expand your situation in life.

4

Stability, building, organization — A quiet year after one of activity, this is a good time to consolidate, secure your position or finances, and rest.

5

Communication, change, movement — This year brings changes, surprises, and unique circumstances.

6

Give-and-take, domesticity, comfort, beauty — Now is the time to focus on hearth and home, enjoy the company of loved ones, and pursue creative ventures.

7

Rest, retreat, withdrawal, introspection — Seek peace and quiet this year, focus on healing and tend to inner needs rather than outer-world activities.

8

Responsibility, material success, managing resources — Seek financial growth and abundance this year, focus on career success, or develop your resources and talents in a practical way.

9

Fulfillment, completion, transition — This is a time of closure and finishing up projects, in order to prepare yourself for the next cycle of development.

You can also examine specific months within a year, using the same system. To do so, add the number of the month to the year. For example, to see what the vibration of February 2008 might offer, add 2 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 8 to get 12, then add 1 + 2 = 3. Thus, February would combine the energy of 3 with the qualities of 1 — a good time for action and pursuing new opportunities.

To see what each year holds for you, take this concept and apply it to your birth date. Begin by adding the month and day of your birth. If you were born on March 4, for instance, your personal number is 7 (3 + 4). Add this number to any year you want to know more about, then read the description of the sum in the preceding table. In 2009, here's what you'd get: 7 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 18, reduced to 9 (1 + 8). You now can see that in 2009 you'll be winding up matters in your life and beginning to consider what to undertake next. Using this method, you can look as far into the future as you wish.
