Where to Find the Perfect Invite

There are several options available when it comes to choosing the style of your invitations. Whether you want paper options or online options, be sure you choose invitations that are appropriate to the occasion you are planning.

Paper Invitations

While there are several brick-and-mortar stationery stores, there are also many to choose from online. If you are unwilling to order online without knowing the feel of the paper's weight and texture (and quality), most online stores will send you samples. Always ask before you have buyer's remorse. This is the reason why many engaged couples (and their parents) choose stationery stores instead of online stores.

The look of your invitation gives people their first hint as to the type of wedding you'll be having. If you are trying to have a party and not a formal affair, be sure your invitations reflect that. And conversely, an elegantly engraved invitation is always appropriate for the most formal of occasions.

If you normally have a hard time choosing between many options, take someone along who can help you narrow down the choices. Though the store employees will be of great assistance, your attendants (or mom) will be the voice of reason if you find yourself overwhelmed by all the options.

Online Options

Just like the online Save the Date option, there are options for online invitations as well. Keep in mind that not everyone is connected to the online world. If you choose to do an online invitation, you may want to purchase a small amount of actual printed invitations. You will need to mail an invitation to those who you know do not have e-mail addresses (or who rarely check their e-mail accounts). Most invitations have to be ordered in sets of twenty-five, so order accordingly. A few of the more popular online invitation websites are:
