Questions for Ceremony Site Coordination

Here are some important questions to ask the coordinator of each ceremony site you visit:

  • What dates are available?

  • What is the fee? Does the fee change depending on the requested time of day or day of the week? When do we need to put down our deposit?

  • What are the seating options? Do we need to rent chairs and other items for the ceremony?

  • How long can we have the site? Does the ceremony need to end by a certain time?

  • When can our florist arrive to decorate? Who will be here early to open the facility?

  • Are there any restrictions on decorating?

  • Is there an attached reception hall in case we decide to use it? What is the fee? What are the cleaning costs?

  • Can we bring in our own caterer if we want? What about alcohol?

  • For an outdoor location: Where can we move the wedding if it rains?

  • Is there a place for members of the wedding party to get dressed?

In evaluating a site's conditions, be clear about your mutual priorities and be aware of what features you're willing to compromise on. You don't want to end up booking a facility that doesn't meet your most important needs.
