Preliminary Time Budget Planning

An important part of laying out a plan for yourself is in budgeting your time. The adage that time is money is especially true these days.

Sure, you could save money by doing most things for your wedding yourself. But do you really want to be up late the night before your ceremony affixing flowers to a wedding canopy, writing out a seating chart, and folding napkins into swans?

Not only will you look stressed and haggard the next day, you will feel it, and you'll miss out on enjoying the perfect experience you've both worked so hard to create.

With everything you have to do, it may be worth the financial investment to have as many arrangements and details as possible taken care of by others. The basic strategy is one of delegation.

Then, too, the better you organize your time, the more you will have to spend looking for bargains and arranging realistic delivery dates.

You don't want to hear that charges are doubled because last-minute orders require surcharges for express delivery or extra manpower. Making a time budget — and keeping it in a prominent place — saves time and money.
