Rewarding Yourself
Acknowledging your accomplishments and rewarding yourself is also a great way to keep on track. As you look forward to your wedding, you're working hard. Much of your gratification for all of your efforts will not be realized until that important day. Keep your spirits up during the planning period by treating yourself with small rewards each time that you achieve one of your SMART goals.
For example. if you were able to walk five times a week for twenty minutes or more for two weeks, plan on treating yourself to something that you enjoy. It can be something to pamper yourself, such as a massage, pedicure, or manicure. Or, you can choose a recreational activity that you enjoy — tickets to a show that you've been wanting to see. It doesn't need to be expensive. Your reward should represent something special that you do for yourself that is not part of your daily life — a simple way to give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back.
