Training with the Groom and Bridal Attendants

Having the support of your friends, family, and your fiancé to help you achieve your wellness goals is a very effective strategy for success. It's difficult to make changes in isolation. If you recruit the support of those around you by letting them know how important it is to you to improve your nutritional and exercise habits, they can make a huge difference. Numerous studies show that the single most important ingredient for success with sticking to a new exercise and eating regimen is the support of friends and family.

Don't be shy about what you want to accomplish. Announce the fact that you're working out and improving your health habits to all your friends. Let them know that you'd love their help and support. You'll be amazed at the difference that it will make. Your friends can reinforce your accomplishments, encourage you to stay on track, compliment you on your discipline, and tell you things that you need to hear to keep you motivated.

Recruit your friends and family as training buddies. Some of your bridal attendants may share your goals of wanting to get in shape. When you need to catch up or go over wedding details, instead of getting together over food and drinks, get together for a walk or a workout. Find different ways that you can be active together. You can visit studios or exercise classes as a group or even chip in and share a personal trainer. Small group training is growing in popularity. Alternatively, you can meet up for hikes on the weekend or other outdoor nature walks. Explore different ways to spend active quality time jointly.

Invite your fiancé to participate in your wellness goals as well. Do some evening stretches as partners to help both of you relax and unwind at the end of the day. If you're not sure how to do them, read the instructions to each other and practice. You can also take walks together to discuss plans and things that you need to resolve before the wedding.

Studies show that men and women who are more fit tend to have sex more often and experience greater satisfaction with their sex lives. Research also shows that maintaining an active sex life enhances both the quality and length of life.

At the same time, amidst all the stress of wedding organization, don't forget to have fun times with your fiancé. Being active together can be a great way to bond, fit in more exercise, and relieve some of the pressures of all the things you need to get done before the big day. Think of classes that you may be able to take jointly or other ways that you can spend time in each other's company and keep moving.

Make time to play together. Indulge in some things just for fun, without any wedding planning purpose. Spend time in nature, run on the beach or take a hike in the woods. Plan an outing to a park together, go skating, or do anything active — purely for the fun of it and no other reason.
