The Planning Path

You already have a life, right? You have a job, a family, and social obligations, but now you have a wedding to plan. Even if you are entertaining the idea of hiring a wedding planner, you still need to be organized and on top of the planning. There are simply too many items and issues that only you can take care of. Keeping the paperwork, swatches, and forms organized will help you keep your sanity from the beginning of the planning until your walk down the aisle.

Staying Organized

How do I stay organized and on top of my planning? First, a filing system for hard copies of contracts and other forms should be established for your home and kept there for safekeeping. For your mobile planning, a three-ring binder with sheet protectors is the way to go. Make copies of contracts for the binder, place swatches and color chips in the pockets, and fill it up with tear-outs from magazines and other items that inspire you for your wedding. This system is easy to update and makes a perfect traveling companion.

Staying on Track

How do I know what I am supposed to do and when? A comprehensive planning checklist will provide you with guidance and a general schedule of what needs to be done and when. Let the checklist keep you on track as you plan and nothing will slip through the cracks.
