A Warm Welcome
Guests who attend your wedding are making an effort to be there to witness this cherished moment in your life. After traveling, there is nothing more wonderful than arriving at your destination and being welcomed with open arms. Take care to provide the guests with a list of activities and some genuine hospitality to make this a wedding and a trip they will never forget.
What is a hospitality basket or package? A hospitality package is a welcome gift of travel amenities and/or snacks from the bride and groom to the guests. You will need one package per room, but be sure to include the appropriate number of items, such as water bottles to accommodate the number of guests in the room. These are not necessary, but guests appreciate them and they make a great impression.
What should I include in the hospitality package? The packages can be as simple as bottled water and snacks (cookies, gum or mints, nuts, crackers, chocolates, trail mix, dried fruit, fresh fruit), or they can be more elaborate and include gourmet food selections and wine. Your packages can be created to reflect your wedding destination or theme as well — for example, a bottle of wine for a wine country wedding or beach towels for a beachfront destination. A welcome letter, wedding activities guide or itinerary, and a local travel guide are also great additions.
