Like the warnings reported in France in which the Virgin Mary predicted the French Revolution, warnings have more recently occurred in Rwanda and in Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovenia. In the early eighties in Rwanda, visionaries were warned that rivers would fill with blood, and that the visionaries should flee to safety. During the devastating civil war in Rwanda, more than a million people were killed, and the rivers became clogged with dead bodies just as the Virgin Mary had predicted.

In Medjugorje, the Virgin Mary focused on the theme of peace. In one of the Virgin Mary's messages at Medjugorje, she said, “Peace. Peace. Peace. Be reconciled with one another.”
