Life After the Presidency

Upon leaving office, President Clinton entered the public speaking circuit, including delivering addresses to international audiences where he discusses contemporary politics.

SCANDALS & GOSSIP

Hours before leaving office, Clinton pardoned 140 people. Of these, three of the more controversial pardons were: fugitive Marc Rich, wanted for tax evasion and whose former wife was a Clinton family friend and campaign contributor; Roger Clinton, the president's half-brother, who had served time for drug charges; and Susan McDougal, who had served her sentence but refused to testify about Clinton's role in the Whitewater scandal.

He wrote his autobiography, My Life, in 2004. Clinton has developed a friendship with former rival President George H. W. Bush that has led to their collaboration on several humanitarian endeavors. Most visibly, the pair has led national campaigns to raise money for victims of the 2004 tsunami in Indonesia and for Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005.
