Life After the Presidency

Eisenhower retired after his second term on January 20, 1961. He and his wife, Mamie, moved to a farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He spent the next eight years working on his autobiography and memoirs. Some of his most popular books include Crusade in Europe and Waging Peace: The White House Years. Eisenhower never held another public position. He died on March 28, 1969, of congestive heart failure.
