Muslims throughout the world share a common set of fundamental beliefs that are often described as “articles of faith.” These articles of faith form the foundation of the religion of Islam, and they are shared by Muslims regardless of sect or background. They include the central belief that there is only One God, as well as faith in His angels, His revealed books, the prophets God has sent to guide people, the Day of Judgment, and God's power over human destiny.
