One of the main purposes of the family in Islam is to provide an appropriate environment for raising children. Muslims consider their children to be precious treasures, gifts from Allah, a source of tremendous joy. From the time of conception through puberty and beyond, parents take on the responsibility for their children's development and are sometimes tested by difficulties. Children are to be raised in an environment of love and support, and they are expected to show their parents respect and care.
