Muslims are commanded to respect the dignity of all people, regardless of religion, race, or nationality. The Qur'an orders its followers to be just and fair with non-Muslims, even those who oppress or battle against Muslims and are considered enemies. Furthermore, special consideration is given to Jews and Christians, who are called the People of the Book, in recognition of their faiths' divine origins and monotheistic teachings.
