After the invention of insulin in the late 1920s, not much happened to advance diabetes treatment or find a cure for decades. Over the past fifteen years, however, better, more humane therapies have become available. There is hope, in the not-too-distant future, for a cure. There is hope that parents and caregivers of children with diabetes will be able to embrace a future, in which, with their help, diabetes will be a distant memory.
