Where to Eat

Venice will offer your most metropolitan dining experiences in this part of Italy, but there are good meals to be had in the outlying cities and towns as well.

The price code for the restaurant entrees below is $ = 100 or more.

Avogaria

$$-$$$$

Avogaria is one of Venice's trendy, modern restaurants, serving Venetian, Italian, and international cuisine. If you're a vegetarian, you'll appreciate the relatively large number of dishes available alongside meat and pasta entrees. The wine list is quite good as well, featuring selections from Italy's various grape-growing regions.

Centrale

$$$-$$$$

Celebrity sightings are commonplace at this Venice restaurant and lounge, where a private gondola entrance and security services are on the menu alongside traditional Venetian cuisine. If you don't want to blow your budget on the entrees, order some appetizers at the wine bar, which features about 200 bottles on its own menu.

Piola

$-$$

You might recognize the name Piola from its restaurants in New York City, Miami Beach, and Atlanta, but the thin-crust pizza recipes all come from Treviso, where the company opened its first restaurant in 1986. There are dozens of topping combinations available, plus salads and pasta dishes.
