The Book of Truth
It is very important for the new warrior to explore the judge's book of lies thoroughly. (You learned about the book of lies in Chapter 12.) Under the guidance of her teacher, she will transcribe the book, and become intimately familiar with the tricks and traps of the parasite. Revealing the lies is a vital part of the mastery of awareness. It strengthens the warrior, and prepares her to use the tools of the mastery of transformation.
When the warrior has transformed the mitote in her mind, and quieted her inner dialogue, it is time to write her book of truth — an important tool in the mastery of intent. It is impossible to write the book of truth until the judge is quiet, because he is afraid of truth and will sabotage her experience. The judge and parasite believe that the full expression of feelings, truth, and love causes trouble, pain, hurt, and rejection. The eagle warrior no longer believes those lies, and is ready to leap into life with love and an open heart.
You may need to continue writing down what you find in the judge's book of lies; however, for right now, bless and begin a new journal, your “book of truth.” Use the suggestions in this section to guide you about writing down your new dream. If the judge gets in the way, go back to journaling his book of lies, and put him in there.
The Warrior's New Dream of Life
The book of truth is the warrior's description of the new dream of her life. It is where she writes the feeling truth of life that rises in her, without the interference of the judge and parasite. In the past, she might have been attracted to becoming a poet, firefighter, or computer programmer. The parasite would tell her she was ridiculous: She could not make a living as a poet, nobody hires female firefighters, or she could never learn something as complex as computer programming.
Every human develops a unique way of expressing life. It is a combination of DNA, domestication, new learning, chance meetings, and other factors. However it comes about, each human is the only one like him or her in the universe. The personal power of the eagle warrior comes through an expression of that uniqueness, without resistance or reservations. The eagle warrior embarks on a new journey of discovery, to recover the lost truth of who she came here to be.
Wants, Don't Wants, Desires, and Intent
With the voices of lies and fear silenced, the warrior is ready to listen to the deeper truth of who she is and what she feels and wants. She listens quietly, and writes whatever comes to her in her book of truth, without editing or censoring herself. She imagines all the humans going about their lives and jobs, and watches for what attracts her and what does not. She listens to her forgotten dreams, sidetracked ambitions, and unexpressed talents.
It is impossible to dream a new dream of life if the inner judge is making you wrong. Trying to create a successful book of truth before you have done the work to silence the judge might make you frustrated. Be gentle with yourself. Eagles have baby wings before they can fly.
The warrior uses her book of truth to write out everything she does not want (serious disease, loss of a loved one, and so on) and everything she does want (to study poetry, learn about computers, marry a rock star, live without fear). Although the warrior may never study firefighting or computer science, or marry a rock star, it is important that she allow her dreams to manifest themselves, at least in her book of truth. This is a time to let her repressed dreams come alive. Later, she can organize and prioritize her lists.
The Feelings Hidden in the Desires
As she adds ideas, wants, desires, and intentions to her lists, the warrior also looks for the feeling content beneath the things she wants. Perhaps she has dreamed of being a firefighter since she was little because she felt safe and loved when a fireman rescued her cat from a tree. Maybe as a teen she wished she could marry a rock star because she wanted to be envied and feel important (not feel hurt and alone).
When the warrior finds the emotional content behind what she wants and desires, she explores it to see if there is some way of meeting her emotional need within — perhaps without rescuing cats or enduring the complexities of being a rock star's wife. As she refines her discoveries, the warrior is clarifying and refining the meaning and direction of her new life. She is putting her faith in her truth, and trusting that it will direct her into the perfect relationship with life itself.
The power of the eagle warrior's intent is focused on accepting who and what she is, and riding the wild waves of life as herself.
