Living in the Abundance of the Universe
The Toltecs know there is but one universal presence here, and they call it the light (Chapter 2). It is one spirit, one life, one animating consciousness manifesting in limitless forms. They know there is nowhere the light stops and something else begins. All forms — the humans, clouds, rabbits, liver cells, galaxies, and the Earth — are animated by the same presence. The space in between the forms of atoms, planets, and humans is also filled with the same animating presence of life.
If forms and the space between the forms are all created by and animated by the light, the eagle warrior understands that he cannot be separate from the universal presence of life, no matter how it appears to his mind or his senses. He is made of and by the only thing here in the universe.
Living with a Wide-Open Heart
There are many theories and practices that have been proposed to increase abundance, especially financial abundance for humans. Most of these ideas have been dreamed by the parasites, who see themselves as separate from the rest of creation, and in a state of lack because of it. The parasites believe that they can have abundance if they use good sales tricks, clever prayer, or their mind power to attract what is “over there” into their realm, for their use.
Stop and reflect on your perception of abundance. Do you “wish” for abundance because you believe you live in lack? Remember that your word is everything you believe, as well as say. Believing in lack cannot bring abundance. What could you change about your thinking, to align your word with the truth of the universe's abundance?
The eagle warrior understands that the angel of death and life owns everything, and she lends it to humans according to her desires. She also takes back what she has lent when she is ready. The warrior has surrendered everything to the Angel, and his heart is wide open to the universe. He knows that his oneness with creation means that everything is already his, because everything is him. He has no fear about having or losing anything. This is the life of the artist of the spirit.
Living in Gratitude for the Gifts
The gifts of the angel of death and life are limitless, and she gives them freely to all of life — insects, animals, plants, humans, and the galaxies. Her greatest gift is life itself, which she gives generously to every aspect of creation. The warrior lives in unceasing gratitude for the life that animates him and his playground, the Earth.
The artist of the spirit knows that his heart is a two-way door for all the gifts from the angel of death and life. He strives to keep it as open as possible, to receive the gifts that come, and to share the gifts she sends through him into the world. He knows that fear narrows the doorway, and love and gratitude open it. The warrior's gratitude for the gifts received, and for his opportunities to give, is his assurance that the door to his heart will always be opened wide.
