Chickpea Parmesan Spread

This spread can be served hot or cold. Omit the hot sauce altogether if you have mild taste buds.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 2

  • ½ cup canned reduced-sodium chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon hot sauce
  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Mash chickpeas with a fork in a small bowl or mix in a blender until smooth.

  2. Mix the Parmesan cheese with the chickpea mixture.

  3. Add oil and hot sauce and blend well. Serve with pita bread crisps.
