Red Wine Raspberry Sangria

This delicious combination of red wine and raspberries can be made into a sorbet or sherbet if you have an ice-cream maker.

SERVES 4

3 cups Beaujolais wine

½ cup framboise (raspberry liqueur)

½ cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed

½ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed

¼ cup sugar (or more to taste)

1 lemon

1 cup raspberries

  • Combine the Beaujolais wine, framboise, lemon juice, orange juice, and sugar in a pitcher. Stir well and add sufficient ice to chill the mixture without all melting.

  • Slice the lemon into ¼-inch-thick slices and add them to the pitcher. Add the raspberries to the pitcher.

  • Pour a glass for each person and be sure to include several raspberries in each serving.
