You can often find material specifically geared toward people who are new to Tantra and want to get started.
A lot of people find CDs and videos to be a very convenient way to learn about Tantra. Just the soothing, friendly tone of the teacher's voice can often be a good preview of the meditative benefits you may get from Tantric techniques. Also, it is sometimes reassuring to see “normal-looking” people practicing the techniques (as opposed to the exotic swami-type guru you may be picturing in your mind).
