In Tantra, the woman is put on a pedestal. She is seen as a goddess, the center of the universe. In traditional Tantra, the woman was thought to have godly powers because of her ability to create life and give birth. All women were viewed as likenesses of Shakti, a pure and positive energy force. Every woman was believed to embody the spirit of a goddess, and was to be revered and worshipped.
