Step #1: Arrive on Time

That’s right, the first step is pretty easy! Even better than arriving on time: Arriving a few minutes early if you can. It’s difficult to take effective notes on the first few minutes of the lecture if you rush to class, arriving out of breath and flustered. By coming early, you can relax and decompress for a few minutes and put yourself in the right frame of mind. If you have time, you should review your notes from the previous class to help focus your attention on the day’s subject matter.

Besides helping you get settled, arriving on time is just common courtesy. Dashing in late can distract and offend the teacher, and it’s never a good idea to upset the professor.
