As you read and revise your first draft, try to think of yourself as an editor going over an article by a reporter. As an editor, it’s your job to make certain that everyone will be able to understand the article. You might also try reading the essay out loud, to listen to how it sounds. At this stage, you need to worry about correct grammar and spelling, as they make it easier for the reader to understand and appreciate your ideas in the first place.
