Wrapping It Up
In order to get your site on the Internet, you first need an Internet service provider (ISP). This is how you get access to the Internet. Next, you need a web host. As discussed earlier, your evaluation of a particular host should include the services they provide and, perhaps more importantly, the amount of server capacity they offer. Lastly you need a file transfer protocol (FTP) program, which is the software that actually places your files on the web host server. If you use any of the WYSIWYG programs, FTP access is generally included. Similarly, most web hosting companies include it in their offerings. In most cases, once you have your FTP established with the specific server information and your unique user name and password, you are good to go. After that it should be quite easy to add or change files on your server and modify your website as you wish.
