Timing Travel Spells

Like other spells, the ones you do to facilitate travel will be more powerful if you do them at the appropriate time. If you're beginning an adventure, start your journey when the moon is new. If the purpose of your trip is to complete a goal, such as a business trip to land a sale or contract, try to schedule it on or just before the full moon. Plan a vacation to unwind and let go of responsibilities during the waning moon. Arrange a trip for educational purposes or to expand your contacts while the moon is waxing.

Sagittarius is the zodiac sign of long-distance travel. Therefore, the best time to do most travel spells is while the moon and/or the sun is in Sagittarius. Gemini is connected with short trips, so if you don't plan to go far from home, do a spell when the sun and/or moon is in Gemini.

The best days of the week for doing travel spells are Wednesday and Thursday, the days ruled by Mercury and Jupiter, respectively. Mercury governs short trips, while Jupiter oversees long-distance travel. Consider the purpose of your trip, too. Saturn is associated with work, so you could do a spell for a business trip on Saturday. You might want to do a spell for a happy honeymoon or romantic getaway on Friday, the day ruled by Venus.

If possible, avoid taking a trip while Mercury is retrograde (check an ephemeris for dates). During one of these three-week periods, which happen about four times in a year, you're more likely to encounter travel-related problems. Delays, cancellations, lost luggage, mechanical troubles, crossed signals, communication difficulties, and general confusion occur more frequently when Mercury is retrograde. If you must travel during these periods, use extra care. Plan ahead, confirm reservations, allow plenty of time in your schedule for mishaps, and don't leave anything to chance.
