Say It with a Saying

Sayings, or refranes (reh-FRAH-nehs), are a big part of the spoken Spanish language. Each country and culture has their own, but many cross the borders and are embraced by Spanish speakers worldwide. Remember, the translations given provide the meaning of the saying; for the most part, they aren't literal.
