Trick-or-Treat Caramel Corn
You can substitute roasted and salted peanuts, walnuts, or even macadamia nuts for pecans in this recipe. Better yet: use all of the above.

Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup white corn syrup
- ⅛ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 quarts popped corn
- 1 cup roasted, salted pecans
Melt ½ cup butter in a saucepan over low heat; add the sugar and syrup. Increase to medium heat and let simmer 6 minutes while stirring.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the cream of tartar, salt, and baking soda, stirring well.
Butter the inside of the slow cooker with the remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Put the popped corn in the slow cooker. Pour the liquid caramel over the top while mixing.
Cover and heat on a low setting for 1 to 2 hours. Stir periodically.
After the popcorn and caramel are mixed, add the pecans and mix again.
