Paul Revere Baked Beans

A colonial classic—but now you don't have to keep the woodstove burning all day to get the same tasty result.

Pot size: 5 quarts

3 cups dried white beans

4 slices bacon

½ clove garlic

1 cup water

½ cup molasses

1 tablespoon prepared mustard

¼ teaspoon salt

1. Soak the beans overnight in cold water; drain.

2. Cut the bacon into 1-inch lengths. Crush and mince the garlic. Combine the bacon and garlic with soaked beans, 1 cup water, molasses, mustard, and salt in the slow cooker.

3. Cover and heat on a low setting for 8 to 10 hours.
