Play is a big part of occupational therapy using a sensory integration approach and of the therapy you do with your child at home. But playing with other children in an unstructured and unsupervised setting represents a whole different degree of difficulty for your child. You will want to anticipate the areas in which your child's sensory needs may get in the way of safe and enjoyable play with other children and be ready to provide or suggest solutions that keep the fun going for everyone.
