This chapter turns to the saints who are remembered by Christians with great fondness, although in many cases very little is known about them. Over the years, traditions and legends have grown up around these saints and they have become a vivid part of the living memory of both the Eastern and Western churches. This chapter will explore a few of the great saints known through the traditions of these churches.
