This chapter will explore the lives of some of the American saints. These saints helped to establish schools, convents, and orphanages on American soil, and some of them worked to combat issues that continue to be divisive in contemporary times, such as racism. The lives of these saints are an essential part of both the history of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches as well as the history of the United States.
