Protein

Considered the building block of all tissues and cells, protein's primary function is to build and repair red blood cells, muscle, hair, and cells for body tissues. Protein is a secondary energy provider (to carbohydrates). It's in meat, fish, dairy products like cheese, milk, and yogurt, and in the edible parts of leguminous plants like beans, peas, and lentils.
