Inside or Outside Dog?

Rottweilers need to be with their owners. This means that he should be with you, not stuck in the backyard. But what about the times you are gone (at work, school, or on a shopping errand)? Can't you leave your rottie out, during the day or at night?

The short answer is no. Leaving your dog unattended in the backyard isn't a good idea. At night, your rottweiler would be unattended and might bark to gain your attention. This could be a nuisance to your neighbors who are trying to sleep. During the day, people who see your dog might think it's a good idea to approach him and could end up harming him or harassing him for lack of common sense. A fenced-in yard doesn't mean that people will stay away from a dog. It's possible that service people, such as lawn care maintenance workers, electric meter readers, and postal carriers, would feel threatened by a big dog like a rottweiler. Without supervision, there are many troublesome situations that your rottweiler could get into. If you can't supervise him outside, it's best to keep your dog indoors.
