IF THERE IS ONE KIND OF TRAINING you have to do right with your rottie, it is housetraining (or housebreaking, as it is often called). Most owners can put up with a dog that won't quite sit on command or won't come when called, but a dog that uses the house as a toilet won't be tolerated long. Indeed, many dogs end up in the shelter or in rescues because their original owners failed to housetrain them properly. It is the biggest problem most owners face. Luckily, rottweilers aren't one of the more difficult breeds to housebreak. Rottweilers are naturally intelligent and are usually capable of figuring out what their owners want of them. Occasionally, you'll run into a stubborn rottie, but you should be able to housetrain your rottie relatively easily.
