Choosing an Adult
The adult rottweiler should be outgoing and friendly. Avoid any timid or aggressive rottweilers. The rottie may be exuberant, but he should not be hyper when he greets you. If you can, walk the rottie on a leash and spend some time getting to know him. If the rottie knows commands, practice some commands after he has settled down. Offer him a dog biscuit whenever he performs the command correctly.
Spend as much time as you can with your prospective adult rottweiler to decide if this is the one for you. Learn what you can about the adult rottweiler's history. You won't learn everything about the rottweiler in a brief ten-minute session, but you will get a feel for his personality.
