Our world is out of whack. That's because far too many people tend to value immediate gratification over long-term gratification. Seeking immediate gratification, many couples buy cell phones, CD players, big-screen televisions, designer clothes, and gourmet meals. They work two jobs and put in lots of overtime just to have these “lifestyle” goodies for themselves and their kids. Even worse, our culture seems focused on the immediate gratification of great sex. With all this immediate gratification going on, we are losing sight of the big picture. We are losing the glorious bonding that could have taken place along the way This chapter is a short course in developing or rekindling an ability that exists in everyone—being romantic.
