In this chapter, you will learn how to apply accents to beats. You will also learn about ghost notes and explore triplets on the drum set. Specifically, you will have a chance to play beats using sixteenth-note triplets. This will be followed by two etudes that combine eighth and sixteenth notes—plus corresponding rests—with triplets, accents, buzzes, and ghost notes. Through these etudes, you will get a chance to synthesize the material you've been honing in the last three chapters.
