Preparing for the Attunement
Once you have found your Reiki Master and set up a time for the attunement ceremony, you will need to start preparing your mind and body for the event. Your body should be free of any foods, drinks, and other substances that diminish mental awareness or stimulate the body unnaturally. Drink plenty of water to flush yourself of any lurking toxins. Avoid nicotine, caffeine, recreational drugs, and alcohol for at least twenty-four hours prior to your class. An exception to this rule is to continue taking any prescribed medications according to your health provider's directions.
A full night's sleep prior to your class is recommended, so get to bed early, or at least avoid any late — night activities like watching television into the wee hours of the morning. Be sure to eat a healthy, nutritious breakfast the morning of your class. Fifteen to twenty minutes of meditation in the morning will also help calm you of any nervous jitters or stomach butterflies.
