Reactions of the Systems

While reviewing the systems, take a look at the reactions of these systems as well. The link between the organs and other structures of the body is further encouraged through reflexology. Circulation is directly improved through reflexology; this can be observed as the complexion of the receiver improves even before the session is complete.

With the improved circulation comes the removal of toxins from the body. Again, this may be observed during a session as a recipient's nose may begin to run, or there may be an increase in perspiration. Often at the conclusion of a session, the receiver will need to void.

Reflexology works to bring balance to the receiver, a state of harmony and of wholeness. As circulation is improved, other areas of the body react positively. With toxins leaving the body naturally, all the systems work more effectively, requiring less dependence on artificial means. A feeling of well-being becomes constant. There are many different developments that may surface. The following are some of the aftereffects of a session:

  • A feeling of renewal; feeling refreshed and energized

  • A feeling of calmness and harmony

  • An altered sleep pattern

  • A sense of relief

  • A regulation in body temperature

  • Reduction of aches and pains

  • A renewed sense of self

  • An increase in nasal discharge

  • A new awareness of surroundings

  • An increase in release of undigested waste

  • A release of water retention

  • An increase in lung function

Reactions generally produce a change in overall body function. As the body, mind, and spirit evolve, this becomes apparent on the feet as well. The feet root us to the ground, yet connect us with the universe. The essence of our being is often mirrored in the condition of our feet.
