Create a Healing Space
So far you have learned how reflexology can relax a person. But where do you perform the reflexology techniques? In the middle of the den with all the children running around? In the garage among all the tools and bicycles? Setting aside a place to practice is important.
Take a walk through your living area and feel where you begin to relax. Sit in this place and see if it is comfortable to you. Make sure there is enough light — natural, if possible. Check to see if the air is clear; see if there is enough space without clutter. Even if you live in one room, you can be creative with the section where you will be working.
Once you have decided where you want to work, use lots of elbow grease and clear out all dust, dirt, and dinginess. Let yourself look through the eyes of the person who will be receiving reflexology in that setting.
The size of the area is not important. Rather, it is the energy of the space that is key. The region you are working in should say, “Welcome! Come and relax, put your feet up and enjoy.” Remember, for the next bit of time the person you are working on will have nothing to do but relax, so the arena you have developed is important.
Fact
The rule for space clearing is keeping it simple. Getting rid of clutter is essential. Whether physical, mental, or emotional, releasing old junk allows you to function in balance and harmony. The areas of living and working need to be not only physically clean but also spiritually clean as well.
