Tapping and Clapping
The tapping technique is another method involved with the close-down routine. Steady, rhythmic tapping, with all the fingers, results in a warm feeling on the sole's surface. You may actually see the skin pink up. Using both hands, tap gently and progressively along the surface of the foot, top and bottom. Tap along the sides as well, letting the entire foot feel the sensation.
Of course, this technique — in fact, all close-down techniques — is applied to both feet. Here is a section where moving back and forth is acceptable. Feel free to work these methods as you wish. Tapping allows your fingers to relax; as you freely tap along the surfaces of the feet, your fingers are loosely grouped. This is an area where you receive as well as give.
Use both hands on the foot you are working on. With the foot sandwiched in between the hands, clap. The full hand claps on the foot's surface. The foot feels protected and stimulated. Repeat this on the other foot. You are applauding the feet for receiving the treatment.
